Competitive Academy (U13–U19)

The Intermediate Phase

for the U13-U14 age groups is a 10-month (Aug. – May) competitive program that focuses on introducing and implementing the tactical, physical, and social aspects of NPA’s Five Focal Points of Player Development , as well as further developing the technical aspect that players have built in the Developmental Academy from U9-U12. This is also the period where NPA players are introduced to NPA’s Four Pillar approach to providing a consistent and attractive style of play.

The Performance Phase

By now, players should be comfortable in their understanding of and ability to implement NPA’s playing style in games and be striving to continuously improving in their overall individual technical development.

U13-U19 COMPETITIVE ACADEMY

The Competitive Academy program is divided into two phases. The Intermediate Phase for ages U13-U14 and the Performance Phase for all high school ages, U15-U19. Both phases implement NPA’s strategic partnerships with Veo for match analysis and Techne for at-home technical training.

Team training occurs two-three times weekly with games on weekends. All teams are trained by appropriately licensed, professional club coaches to provide the players with the best possible foundation of skills and knowledge of the game.

NPA Competitive Academy teams will form set rosters at the start of each season and compete at the highest levels with the state, region, and country. Some teams may also compete in various elite leagues across the region and country, such as the USYS & US Club Soccer.

NPA Competitive Academy  teams are formed after players participate in one of our ID sessions led by NPA Directors and Staff Coaches.

Player attendance at all training sessions and games is expected in the NPA Competitive Academy.
